Mike Marquardt, the bass player was born into a musical family in 1961.
I grew up listening to my folks playing the country music of the 60’s & 70’s. Along with my brother Steve, I joined the group in the late 70’s, and played many local wedding dances, nightclubs, and VFW halls, as we traveled eastern South Dakota. The group known as Ron & Kathy and the Country Kickers retired in 1991. After a few years out of the music business, the desire to perform for an audience was still there, so along with some friends, we started doing a few shows once in a while. That has since grown into the current Battle Creek Station Band. Some of my influences are Haggard, Alan Jackson, Keith Whitley, Diamond Rio, George Strait, and my favorite group, Blackhawk.
I am a farmer with a livestock operation. One of my hobbies is listening to live music. I am one of the founding members of the ASSI-9 Racing Team which is involved in mud drag racing and am one of the official announcers for South Dakota Mud Racers Inc.. |

The always entertaining, HATMAN Kevin Kuper on keyboards, lead and harmony vocals comes from a good Catholic family of 6 boys and 2 girls in Dell Rapids. I started banging on the ivories when I was about 4 years old. Ma made me take piano lessons, HOWEVER that lasted a couple of weeks and to this day continue to play by ear. My whole family has a huge music background. For many years we had The Kuper Family Band where we shared our family music with the community to raise food and money for local organizations during the Christmas holiday. Several years back I had the opportunity to join this band and have been enjoying every minute of it. The energy of BCS and our fans make this experience one of the best ever (except the time I won the Money Bunny at church carnival). I hope everyone has the opportunity to come enjoy our shows in the future, and if you can guess how many hats/wigs I have, it could be worth 1 MIIIIILLLLLION Dollhairs. |

Lead guitar, vocals and songwriter Marty Lindbloom.
I started learning to play guitar in sixth grade. In eighth grade I formed a three piece band called Mystic Blues. In my freshman year we added a fourth member and changed the name to Tower.
I went to college and joined a rock band called Hush. After college the band split up and I joined Ron & Kathy & the Country Kickers. When they retired, Mike, Steve, and I formed the band Kickin Country. We added Kevin (our keyboard player), Kim(our lead singer), Dave (our fiddle player) and changed the name to Battle Creek Station. I love playing lead guitar and writing songs for the band. Some of my biggest influences are Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and the Doobie Brothers. I think the most of artists who write their own songs. And I have to say, I’ve never been more proud to be in a band as I am with Battle Creek Station.
